Model Construction
Each model is built using a plank on frame method, where each strip of wood is glued over a bulkhead and then overlaid with the finishing timber. Epoxy glue is used for the assembly for strength and to prevent distortion in the hull. We use the high quality woods like rose wood, ebony, black wood, mahogany, teak… detailed as follow: (Botanical names / English) * Diospyros (Ebony) (for buttons and small details) * Pterecarpus Pedatus Pierre (for the hull) * Dalbergia Oliverii Gamble /Rose wood (for the hull) * Siamea Lamk/ Black wood (for the hull) * Xylia Dolabrifommis Benth/ Mahogany(for the masts) * Talauma GIOI A.Chev/Yellow (on the floor or water line) * Jack wood (on the floor or water line) * Canons, muskets, anchors and other tiny details are made of metal (for decoration) * Sails and rigging lines are made of linen.
